Event Details

This is the Arlington 'Owler, a starlit night trail race. It is part of the Starlight Challenge series organized by Ilfracombe Running Club. The event takes place at Arlington Court in North Devon.

The race will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Two distances are offered: a 6 km single-loop route and a 12 km two-loop route. The 6 km route has 120 meters of ascent, while the 12 km route has 240 meters of ascent. The course is described as hilly.

Participants should expect to encounter wildlife such as bats, owls, and deer. The first race starts at 7:20 PM. Head torches (ideally at least 300 lumens), trail shoes, and a sense of adventure are mandatory. For safety, the use of headphones is discouraged; if used, they must be bone-conducting type. Running with dogs is not permitted.

Entry fees are:

  • 6 km: £12 (£10 for affiliated runners)
  • 12 km: £13 (£11 for affiliated runners)

There are age restrictions: entrants must be at least 14 for the 6 km race and at least 17 for the 12 km race. Explicit parent or guardian permission is required for participants under 17. A time cutoff applies for the 12 km race; participants must complete the first loop in under 50 minutes.
