Routes and logistics
There are five routes on coastal and inland terrain that use sections of the South West Coast Path, forested tracks and riverside sections, including the Valley of Rocks and areas known for feral goats. Outposts and support vary by route: no outpost on the Short route; one outpost on the Middle; two on the Half Marathon; four on the Marathon; five on the Ultra. Outposts provide a range of snacks, gels and electrolyte drink; there will be self-serve water barrels so runners must use a re-usable cup or bottle.
Distances and elevation gains:
- 50k Ultra - 56 km, +2774 m
- Marathon - 42 km, +2223 m
- Half Marathon - 21 km, +1128 m
- Middle - 15 km, +803 m
- Short - 5 km, +207 m
Cut-off points are used on the 50k Ultra and Marathon; failure to reach cut-offs may result in being collected. Mandatory kit for the 50k Ultra and Marathon includes a waterproof jacket, mobile phone, 800 calories of food, at least 1 litre of water, adhesive bandage, whistle, foil blanket, hat or buff, a re-usable cup and a GPX of the route.
