Spring Creek Memorial Trail Run

The event takes place on the Spring Creek Trail at the gazebo in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It is held in memory of a trail user who was struck and killed by a vehicle along the lower part of the trail in 1991 and reminds participants of the importance of sharing multi-purpose use trails.

Distances offered:

  • 9.5 Mile: up and down loop on primitive trail, two track and single track, brief forest service road.
  • 5K: out and back on rolling two track and single track.

The 9.5 mile course gains approximately 1,750 ft in the first 4 miles, with most of that elevation gained between miles 2 and 4. That section includes unimproved rocky and narrow single track and several large downed trees before a smooth rolling downhill segment.

Registration opens January 1, 2026 and closes May 17, 2026. Fees listed for the distances are $40.75 for the 9.5 mile race and $25.75 for the 5K. The event program includes a prize drawing and a post-race meal prepared by Freshies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
