Continental Divide Trail Run
The Continental Divide Trail Run is a set of trail races held in Steamboat Springs on Saturday, August 29, 2026. The event starts and finishes on the Torian Plum Lawn in front of Slopeside Grill. Proceeds from the race are donated to the Trail Maintenance Endowment Fund.
Distances:
- 50k (9 hour cutoff)
- 16 mile (7 hour cutoff)
- 5 mile
The 50k course is just over 29.5 miles, begins and ends near 7,000 ft elevation and climbs to over 10,400 ft. Aid stations are located at Rainbow Saddle, Mt. Werner Summit, Long Lake, Mt. Werner, and Rainbow Saddle again before the finish. The 16 mile route is just under 16 miles, starts and finishes near 7,000 ft and climbs to over 10,350 ft, with aid stations at Rainbow Saddle and Mt. Werner Summit. The 5 mile course is just under 5 miles with about a 1,000 ft elevation change to the turnaround and has no aid stations.
This is a cupless race; aid stations do not provide cups. Participants must carry their own hydration device or collapsible cup; collapsible cups will be available for purchase at packet pickup and the race. Leashed dogs are allowed on the 5 mile course only. Crew access is permitted only at the Rainbow Saddle Aid Station by foot, bike, or gondola; there is no vehicle access to the course.
Packet pickup is offered Friday at Ski Haus and on race day at the start. Registration is handled through UltraSignup and some distances have maximum fields. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
