Continental Divide Trail Run

The Continental Divide Trail Run is organized by the Steamboat Springs Running Series, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Proceeds from the event are donated to the Trail Maintenance Endowment Fund. The start and finish are on the Torian Plum Lawn in front of Slopeside Grill in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Distances:

  • 50k : just over 29.5 miles; 9 hour cutoff
  • 16 mile : just under 16 miles; 7 hour cutoff
  • 5 mile : just under 5 miles

The 50k and 16 mile courses start and finish at about 7,000 feet and climb to over 10,400 feet and 10,350 feet respectively. The 5 mile course has an elevation change of just over 1,000 feet from start to turnaround.

Aid stations on the 50k occur at Rainbow Saddle (mile 6 and mile 25), Mt. Werner Summit (mile 8 and near mile 22), Long Lake (mile 15), and at the finish. The 16 mile course has aid stations at Rainbow Saddle (mile 6 and mile 11), Mt. Werner Summit (mile 8), and the finish. There are no aid stations on the 5 mile course.

This is a cupless race; aid stations do not provide disposable cups. Leashed dogs are allowed only on the 5 mile course. Crew and supporter access is permitted only at the Rainbow Saddle aid station; access is by foot, bike, or gondola and there is no vehicle access to the course.

Awards include top three male and female prizes, age group awards for the 50k and 16 mile races, finisher mugs for the 50k and 16 mile, and a post race taco bar for registered participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
