Emerald Mountain Trail Run
The Emerald Mountain Trail Run takes place on Saturday, October 3, 2026 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The event is based at Olympian Hall on Howelsen Hill and features trail courses on Emerald Mountain.
Distances:
- 12k (roughly 7.75 miles)
- 4 mile run or hike
Both courses begin behind Olympian Hall and follow singletrack routes on Emerald Mountain. The route description includes trails such as Robbie’s, Mile Run, Blackmere, Lupine, and the Bluffs before returning to the start area. The 12k route tours aspen-lined singletrack; hikers are welcome on the 12k course. Participants are asked to be respectful when passing hikers on narrow trails and hikers should pull to the side to allow runners to pass. Headphones are not encouraged.
This race serves as the end of the SSRS pointed season and series winners will be announced at the event. Awards are presented outside Olympian Hall with prizes for first, second and third place male and female finishers. Every participant is automatically entered in a prize raffle that follows the awards. The event also functions as a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club.
Packet pick up and in-person registration are available at Olympian Hall on race day. Pets are not ideal on narrow trails and must be leashed while in the city park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
