Races take place on dirt singletrack and include multi distance options for bikers and runners. The full event layout is described as 100 percent dirt and about 90 percent singletrack. Races begin at Howelsen Hill Ski Area and travel into Routt County backcountry through meadows, aspen forests and sage gardens. The full bike event is composed of two 26.2 mile loops.
Distances include:

- Duo Relay: Teams of two, one 26 mile lap each, about 3,300 feet gain.
- Full Marathon: 26.2 miles, approximately 3,300 feet elevation gain.
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles, approximately 1,500 feet elevation gain.
- Duo Marathon: Teams of two, each running a 13.1 mile half simultaneously.
