The South Scotland Outdoor Festival is a multi-day event held within the grounds of Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfries and Galloway. Running from 26 to 28 June 2026, the festival combines various sports disciplines, wellness activities, and entertainment in a landscape characterized by ancient forests and rolling hills.
The event offers several running and cycling options:
- Half Marathon: A trail run through the estate grounds.
- 10 km: A distance for runners on Sunday.
- 5 km: A shorter running option held on Saturday.
- Kids Fun Run: A dedicated race for children aged 3 to 15.
- Grinduro (100 km): A gravel riding event listed as Round 4 of the GrALBA series.
- Grindurito (50 km): A shorter gravel ride.
- Discover South Sportive: Road cycling options with both long and short routes.
In addition to the competitive events, the festival includes a wellness zone with wood-fired saunas, yoga, and breathwork sessions. Attendees can access a big stage for live music as the sun sets, alongside adventure film screenings and talks from guest speakers. On-site camping is available, and the venue offers proximity to local lochs, coastline, and nearby towns. The programming is designed to provide a community-focused outdoor experience with local food and craft drinks available on the castle grounds.
