The Sodbury Slog

The Sodbury Slog takes place on November 8, 2026 in Chipping Sodbury, South Gloucestershire. Organised by Bitton Road Runners, the event is run each year on Remembrance Sunday and attracts around 1300 runners.

The route starts at Chipping Sodbury School, runs through the town and into surrounding countryside, and finishes back at the school after approximately ten country miles. The course is mostly on private land and includes several water features and placed obstacles. Underfoot conditions are frequently wet and muddy and the route includes notable climbs and varied terrain.

The event begins with a short exhortation, two minutes silence, and the playing of the Last Post to commemorate the fallen before the race. The race began in 1990 under the name The Beagle Bash, was renamed in 1999, and has remained largely unchanged since.

Entry for the 2026 event is open. The organiser describes the course as a demanding multi terrain challenge and notes that runners should expect mud and water on the route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
