Slieve Bearnagh

Slieve Bearnagh is a short-length mountain race in the Mournes, organized by Mourne Runners. The route begins in the Happy Valley and climbs to the Meelbeg summit, the Meelbeg/Meelmore col, the Bearnagh summit, and the Meelmore summit before finishing at the bottom of the Happy Valley. It doubles as a NIMRA Championship Race and an Ulster Championship Race.

The course is open mountain terrain with multiple checkpoints; runners must stay outside the Mourne Wall on descent except at stiles. Competitors must carry FRA-specified safety kit, which will be checked; hiking poles are not permitted. Refreshments follow; parking is in the adjacent field for a fee.
