Course and logistics
The course includes pasture lanes, dirt roads, single-track sections on the Florida Trail, sugar sand, fire berms, and some hills. The route is marked with pink flagging, arrow signs, glow sticks, and tape. Aid stations are placed every 3 to 5 miles and will provide snacks, drinks, band-aids, and women’s hygiene products in a plastic box. Finisher awards are hats; the 30K Ruck receives a hat plus a special patch. Overall awards are given to the top four men and top four women.
The 30K Ruck requires a ruck sack only and weight standards are: 20 lb if under 150 lbs, 30 lb if over 150 lbs. There is one drop bag zone at the Berm Aid Station; drop bags must be labeled and will be returned to the start/finish after the aid station packs up. Pacers are not allowed for the 30K; 60K runners may have pacers for the final loop. Camping is available in the Green Swamp with a free reservation required.
