Wild Boar Night Run - September 12, 2026

The Wild Boar Night Run is a night trail event in the Green Swamp West Tract near Dade City, FL. The event offers two options:

• Half-Marathon Run
• Half-Marathon Ruck

The course is an out and back route that follows old forest roads, pasture lanes, and the Florida Trail to the McNeil Trailhead. The turnaround point is roughly 6.6 miles out. Elevation change is listed as +127 feet and -127 feet. Course marking uses pink flagging with reflective tape; areas not to cross are marked with small pink flags.

An aid station is located at the turnaround and will be stocked with soda, pickles, gummy candies, chips, snacks, cookies, produce, powdered electrolyte drinks, band-aids, and women hygiene products in a plastic box. Drop bags are allowed at the turnaround only; they must be labeled, kept to a standard drawstring bag size, and will be returned to the start after the aid station packs up. The turnaround site is about a 25 minute drive from the West Tract start area.

Ruck rules require a ruck sack only with weight standards of 20 pounds if under 150 pounds or 30 pounds if over 150 pounds. Ruck participants receive a patch. There are awards for the top four men and top four women overall. Finisher items include choices of pint glasses, whiskey glasses, mugs, cups, and stickers; there are no age group awards or event t-shirts. A post race potluck party is planned with a stated fee and community coolers for shared beverages. Camping in the Green Swamp is free with a required reservation through the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
