6 at the Springs - Poland, ME
6 at the Springs is a six hour endurance running event held in Poland, Maine. The course uses a historically registered rail trail at Waterhouse Brook at the base of Lower Range Pond. Competitors follow a flat, hard-packed, roughly 4 mile loop that turns in Mechanic Falls and returns across a scenic waterway.
As a timed event, mileage for each participant is recorded and recognized. Runners and walkers may complete as many loops as they wish during the six hour window; recorded distances begin at the 4 mile loop and increase by additional laps. Prizes are planned and recognition is given for mileage earned. A youth entry option is noted for participants aged 12 and under.
Paid entries include an event shirt. The guaranteed shirt size period has ended; shirts will be available on race day in various sizes. Hoodies are available by separate pre-order; pickup will occur on race day and the pre-order deadline is June 10.
The event highlights local businesses and the town trail systems. The route passes multiple watersheds and a notable beaver pond along a wide trail surface. The organizers intend the course to support fast times and repeat laps for endurance training. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
