Six at the Springs
Six at the Springs is a six hour timed endurance event held in Poland, Maine, at 33 Poland Corner Road. The course is a flat out-and-back loop of approximately 4 miles that follows the historically registered rail trail at Waterhouse Brook near the base of Lower Range Pond, runs to a turnaround in Mechanic Falls, and crosses a scenic waterway back to the start. The trail is wide and hard-packed, passing multiple watersheds and a beaver pond.
As a timed event, mileage earned during the six hour period is recorded and recognized. Participants may complete one loop or multiple loops; the total distance is the participant’s choice and will be acknowledged. The event accommodates adult and youth entries, with a youth scoring option for children 12 and under. Paid entries include an event shirt, and shirt sizes are guaranteed for registrations completed by May 16.
Organizers note that hoodie orders are handled separately from entries; hoodies are picked up on race day and the pre-order deadline is June 10. The event emphasizes use of the local trail network and highlights nearby small businesses and sponsors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
