Loon Echo Race Series at Five Fields Farm

The Loon Echo Race Series features multiple trail running events held on conserved lands in the Lakes Region of Maine. Two specific events in the series take place at Five Fields Farm in Bridgton, utilizing the trail networks of the Bald Pate and Holt Pond Preserves. These races support the Loon Echo Land Trust, a nonprofit organization dedicated to land conservation and trail maintenance.

Available distances at this location include:

  • 10 km: A course winding through ancient pitch pine forests with views of Foster Pond. The terrain includes steep climbs and technical sections.
  • 50 km: A three-lap, figure-8 course navigating through the Bald Pate and Holt Pond Preserves. Each lap concludes by passing through the center of an apple orchard.

The 10 km event is noted for its technical terrain and elevation changes. The 50 km ultra-distance event is open to both experienced runners and those new to the distance, offering a repetitive loop format with consistent access to the central orchard area. Participants who register for any three races within the overall series receive a commemorative sweatshirt.

Registration is finalized through UltraSignup and is non-refundable. The events rely on volunteer support for course direction and aid station management. Participants at other series locations, such as the half marathon at Pleasant Mountain, receive a finisher medal and technical shirt.
