Course logistics, gear and requirements

The 29K has one on-course aid station located at the start/finish field where runners pass after loop one (around mile 8.6). The 14K has no on-course aid stations; both events require participants to carry at least 2 liters of fluids. There are no disposable cups at aid stations; participants must bring their own hydration. Drop bags are allowed only at the start/finish. Crews may access the start/finish area; pacers are not allowed.

Mandatory gear is checked at bib pickup and includes 2 liters of fluids, 400 calories of food, a windbreaker or rain shell, and a space or emergency foil blanket. The race notes steep scrambling on the Baldfaces and asks entrants to have completed a hilly, moderately technical trail race of at least 10 miles or to have sufficient mountain experience. Time limits are approximately 9 hours for the 29K and 8 hours for the 14K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
