Baldface Scramble is a mountain trail race held in the White Mountain National Forest at Baldface Farm / Copeland Field off Route 113 in Chatham, NH (Evans Notch). The event offers two distance options:

Course, rules, and logistics

The 14K is a single loop that goes over the Baldfaces and returns via the Bicknell Ridge Trail. The course distance is listed as 9 miles with about 3,479 feet of elevation gain and a time guideline of about 8 hours. There are no on-course aid stations for the 14K; runners must carry at least 2 liters of fluids.

The 29K uses two different loops: loop one goes over the Baldfaces and returns to the field (runners pass a fully stocked aid station at roughly mile 8.6), and loop two goes over Mount Meader before returning to the finish field. The 29K distance is listed as 17.8 miles with about 6,226 feet of total elevation gain, a maximum elevation of 3,578 feet, and a time guideline of about 9 hours.

Mandatory gear will be checked at bib pickup and includes 2 liters of fluids; 400 calories of food; a windbreaker or rain shell; and a space blanket or emergency foil blanket. The event is cupless, so participants must bring their own hydration system. Crews are allowed at the start/finish area; pacers are not permitted. No on-course drop bags are allowed, but drop bags may be left at the start/finish. Entrants are expected to have prior hilly, moderately technical trail experience or comparable mountain experience. Celebrate the season with the Jackson 5k Turkey Trot and kids 1k on scenic trails in Jackson, New Hampshire. This family friendly event brings the community together while raising funds for Jackson Grammar School and Girls on the Run.

Take on the Chocorua Mountain Race on June 6 in Tamworth NH, a 23 km trail challenge with about 4,800 feet of climbing and a summit finish with sweeping White Mountain views. Expect technical singletrack, rocks, roots and steep climbs.

Race beside the Mount Washington Cog Railway from Bretton Woods to the summit, choosing a steep summit climb or a longer roundtrip through boulder fields and exposed alpine terrain. Summit entries include a Cog train descent.

Run the rugged White Mountain trails at Jigger Johnson Ultras in Waterville Valley, with 20 mile, 50 mile and 100 mile routes over technical exposed terrain. Cupless event with required gear and live split tracking.
