The Lake District Trail Running Festival : RunThrough
The Lake District Trail Running Festival takes place on 11 April 2026 from a base at Keswick School, Vicarage Hill, Keswick CA12 5QB. The event offers two marked trail races with aid stations and marshals on course.
- 53 km: route via Derwent Water, Seathwaite and Scafell Pike.
- 23 km: route via Derwent Water, Menesty and High Spy.
The 53 km route passes Derwent Water, goes through Seathwaite, ascends Scafell Pike and continues into Wasdale. It runs around Kirk Fell to Honister Pass, includes a summit of High Spy and finishes with a descent of Catbells back to Keswick. The 23 km route passes Derwent Water, goes through Menesty, includes an ascent of High Spy and a descent of Catbells back to Keswick.
The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. The 53 km race has a 13.5 hour overall cutoff with rolling cutoffs at aid stations. Minimum ages are 20 years for the 53 km and 17 years for the 23 km. Members of UKA affiliated clubs are eligible for a £2 entry discount.
