Endurance Trail Running at Shotley Peninsula

Shotley 24 is a 24-hour endurance trail running event and camping weekend located on the Shotley peninsula in Suffolk. The event is based at Shotley Village Hall and features a 4.3 mile coastal trail loop. The course consists of varied terrain, including farm tracks, forest paths, country lanes, riverbanks, and tarmac footpaths.

Participants can take part in several categories:

  • Solo runners
  • Pairs
  • Small teams (3-4 runners)
  • Large teams (5-6 runners)

The event is held under UK Athletics Rules and is licensed by the Trail Running Association (TRA). The registration is open to individuals aged 18 or older. The goal for participants is to complete as many laps of the marked route as possible within the 24-hour timeframe, with a specific recognition available for solo runners who reach the 100 mile mark.

The entry fee includes overnight camping at the race headquarters for participants, as well as parking and access to toilet facilities. Additional activities and amenities provided on-site include pilates and yoga sessions, chip timing for all laps, and medical cover.
