Rodent Wriggle 2026

Norfolk & Suffolk LDWA present the third Rodent Wriggle, a walk and run event based at Needham Market Community Centre, School Street, Needham Market, IP6 8BB. Three route options are offered that rejoin the main route for the finish.

  • 13.5 mile route
  • 23 mile route
  • 31.5 mile route (50k)

The shorter routes branch off the main route at specific mileages and return to the main route before the finish. The event follows a meandering line up the upper reaches of the River Rat through Mid Suffolk countryside and includes ten historic churches on the 31.5 mile route, with notable examples at Great Finborough, Harleston and Rattlesden.

Checkpoints: the 13.5 mile route has two checkpoints, the 23 mile route has three, and the 31.5 mile route has four. Checkpoint opening and closing times must be observed; late arrival at checkpoint 2 on the long route may require participants to switch to the shorter route. Refreshments are provided at all checkpoints and a light meal is provided at the finish. The event operates on a scan and go basis.

Participants must download the route description and GPX from the N&S LDWA website and bring suitable equipment, including a personal mug. Dogs are permitted on leads but not inside halls. Entry is limited to 165; fees are £16 for LDWA members and £26 for non members. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
