Savannah Camellia Trail Festival and Community Run
The Savannah Camellia Trail Festival and Community Run celebrates a youth-led planting project that brought thousands of students together and resulted in more than 1,500 camellias along the Truman Linear Park Trail. The event is staged at Cohen's Retreat, 5715 Skidaway Rd, Savannah, GA, and combines a community run and walk with an open-air festival.
Registration is optional for festival attendance; the festival is free and open to the public. The running program is intentionally non-competitive and welcomes participants at all paces. Strollers are allowed on the route and leashed dogs may join on the trail. Free parking is available near the event site with signage and volunteer guidance. Restroom facilities include one portable restroom midway along the trail near the turnaround point and restrooms at Cohen's Retreat.
Festival activities include art demonstrations, hands-on kids planting, food and beverage options, meet-the-plant stations, and a community art wall. The project and event are presented in partnership with local organizations including Cohen's Retreat Community Foundation and Hobbes Hill Farm, and they emphasize community connection, stewardship, and Savannah's camellia heritage.
