Savannah Ultra Urban 50k Run

The Savannah Ultra Urban 50k Run takes place in Savannah, GA on November 28, 2026. The event is organized by Run 4 a Reason and is presented as a free, self supported 50 kilometer city run. Entry is limited to 25 runners; admission requires answering the question about why a runner wants to complete a free 50K through Savannah, and the first twenty five respondents will be moved from the waitlist to registered status.

The route begins and ends at the Waving Girl statue on Riverfront Savannah. The exact course changes from year to year to include different culturally rich segments of the city. Parts of the course travel busy streets and sidewalks; participants are expected to be attentive to traffic and to one another while running. Organizers advise running on sidewalks when available and running against traffic where appropriate.

The event emphasizes group running and shared pace groups. The course passes by grocery and convenience stores but participants should not rely solely on those resources and should carry sufficient fluids and fuel for the 50 kilometer distance.
