Savannah SSOD (Stone Stairs of Death) Race
The Savannah SSOD Race takes place October 11, 2026 in Savannah, GA. The event is a chip timed charity race hosted by Rough Runners R4R INC that donates 100% of registration fees and event donations to a family facing medical expenses.
The course is a one third mile loop that includes paved road, cobblestone, and uneven, awkward stairs. Runners start midway on the stairs going up, turn right onto Williamson Street, right onto MLK Boulevard, then right onto River Street and up the SSOD, then repeat the loop. Participants only ascend the stairs during the course.
There are timed race options of either one hour or two hours. Male and female overall awards will be presented for both race formats. Registration opens July 30, 2026 at 12:00 AM ET. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
