The Dark Anchor ultramarathon takes place at Jekyll Island, 210 S Riverview Dr, Jekyll Island, GA. The event offers multiple distance options:

  • 25K

The race is chip timed by Zen Arcade Timing. Official times are recorded for distances from 25K upward. Awards include a finishers buckle for 100 miles and medals for other distances. Registration details are handled through the event organizer.

Course and services

The course is a loop format with a stated 3 mile loop and a short out-and-back on Live Oak Avenue. The loop is run counterclockwise. The organizer describes the surface as smooth, largely flat, and designed for steady running. Pacers are not allowed on the course; for 100-mile entrants, crew members may join on the parade loop for the last loop. Crew access to the Yeti HQ and aid area is restricted to Dark Anchor runners only.

A fully stocked aid station will be provided, with lunch and dinner served by Treehouse and items from a Yeti food truck available to runners. The event is cupless; runners should bring a reusable cup and a camp cup for broth. Portable toilets will be near the start/finish and additional park restrooms are available. Entry fees are nonrefundable; refunds, deferrals, and transfers are not offered. AWD entry rules require athletes to be able to run the course; tethers, prosthetics, and assistive devices may be allowed with approval.
