Dark Anchor at Jekyll Island

Dark Anchor is a timed ultrarunning event held on Jekyll Island, Georgia. The race uses a short loop course based at Yeti headquarters and is organized as a continuous 34 hour event with multiple distance options available.

The course is run on a 3 mile loop that is described as highly runnable and smooth, with a small out and back on Live Oak Avenue. Loop direction is counterclockwise and the layout is intended for repeated laps through the night.

Support on course includes a fully stocked aid station with lunch and dinner for runners and a Yeti food truck offering items for participants. The event is cupless; runners are asked to bring reusable cups. Timing is provided by Zen Arcade Timing with chip timing and live tracking. Organizers record times from 25K and up and state a no DNF policy for the event. Awards include a buckle for 100 mile finishers and medals for other distances.

Crew access to the Yeti HQ and aid area is restricted to runners. Portable toilets are provided near the start and additional park restrooms are available at the loop start. The event includes explicit diversity and accommodation policies for athletes with disabilities and for transgender and non binary entrants. The 2026 edition is sold out.
