The Girl Scout Island Ultra is a trail running event at Rose Dhu Island Camp in Savannah, Georgia. The event spans a race weekend in November 2026 and offers multiple distances and a relay option with a team size limit.
Distances
- 10K
- 50K
- 50K relay (maximum 5 people)
- 100K
- 100 mile
The race uses a measured 6.25 mile loop that is described as non-technical and relatively flat with occasional roots. The loop passes through cabin and perch areas, which allows personal aid to be accessible for participants who rent lodging. This is a chip timed event; runners must cross the timing mat with their chip at the end of each lap. Laps per distance are: 10K one lap, 50K five laps, 100K ten laps, and 100 mile sixteen laps.
On-site camping is available through the Girl Scouts for a fee and includes cabins, perches, and elevated tent platforms with access to showers and bathrooms. Primitive and vehicle camping are available at no cost for ultra distance participants who notify the Race Director in advance. RVs are not allowed and all vehicles must park in designated areas.
Additional logistics include a one lane bridge to the island, a midnight gate curfew for entering the island, leash requirements for dogs, pacer registration and check in rules, finisher medals for all distances, and a buckle for 100 mile finishers. Proceeds support the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia and Rose Dhu Island. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
