Lord of The Run - North
Lord of The Run - North is a timed trail event organised by Saturn Running on a riverside course along the River Wear near Durham Cathedral. The course is fully signed and described as a trail, so no navigation experience is required. The event runs as a seven hour Time Challenge offering flexible distances.
Distances and lap structure include:
- 3 km minimum distance
- Full lap about 7 km or a 3.28 mile loop, subject to change
- 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap
- Half marathon equals 3 laps, marathon 6 laps, ultra 7 or more laps
- 5 km, 10 km, 50 km and Time Challenge options are available
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon distance or greater and are attached to the medal ribbon. All finishers receive a goody bag; a vegan goody bag option is available. An aid table and drinks table are provided at the start and finish of each lap with sweet and savoury snacks and vegan options.
Race headquarters offers toilets and changing facilities. A bag drop is provided near the start and finish but it is not staffed and items are left at the participant’s own risk. There is pay and display parking nearby and participants must not use the rowing club car park. Headphones are allowed and the route uses public footpaths so consideration of other path users is requested. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
