Lord of The Run - North is a 7-hour Time Challenge event held on Sunday 21 June 2026 at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Ln, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JU. Participants choose their own distance during the seven-hour window. Walkers are permitted. Headphones are allowed.

  • Full lap: 4.37 miles / 7 km (may change to a 3.28 mile loop)
  • 3 laps = half marathon
  • 6 laps = marathon
  • 7+ laps = ultra
  • 50 km distance available

Course, facilities and services

The course runs along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral. It is classed as a trail run and is fully signed. A 3k turn point and 5k turn point are provided on the lap to meet UK Athletics age rules.

Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal. Distance pins are available for half-marathon and longer finishes, including Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50 km and Ultra pins. Finishers also receive a goody bag; a vegan goody bag option is available.

An aid and drinks table is provided at the start/finish of each lap with drinks and snacks, including vegan options. Toilets and changing facilities are available. Bag drop is unstaffed and items are left at the participant’s own risk. There is nearby free on-street parking or pay-and-display city parking.

Entry price of £17.00 is available only to members; members are guaranteed entry and receive a mini-me medal pin at events. Final race instructions are emailed 7-10 days before the event.
