Community Traverse Cleveland Hills 80 km

The Community Traverse Cleveland Hills is a point-to-point ultra covering 80 km on Saturday 20 June 2026. The route starts in Ingleby Arncliffe and finishes at Robin Hood’s Bay, following the final section of the Coast to Coast path.

Terrain includes trail, exposed moorland, rolling ridgelines, forest track, uneven ground, and short sections of road. A GPX file and final route details will be provided to participants in advance.

Checkpoints along the route:

  • CP1 - Lordstones, 12.7 km
  • CP2 - The Lion Inn, 31.8 km
  • CP3 - Horseshoe Hotel, 49.5 km

All checkpoints will offer water, hot food with vegan and gluten free options, snacks and race nutrition, indoor access and toilets, and basic first aid support.

Safety and race rules note mandatory equipment and live tracking for all participants. Trackers must be returned and participants withdrawing must report to race control and the nearest checkpoint. There is an overall cut off of 15 hours and individual checkpoint cut offs will be provided in the final event pack.

Additional details: the event is registered with ITRA and finishing participants can earn ITRA endurance points. Free parking is available at the start, a bag drop service runs from start to finish, and return transport options will be confirmed prior to the event. Entry fee is £50 and minimum age is 20. Experience a 36 mile ultra distance event through the stunning Esk Walk Valley with 4487 feet of elevation. This circular route starts and finishes in Glaisdale and is open to both runners and walkers.

Classic fell race through the North York Moors on Sunday 3 May 2026, 15 km with about 605 m of climb from Fryup Gill near Whitby. Entry on the day makes it ideal for spontaneous runners and teams seeking a rugged challenge.

A 6.5 mile undulating trail race around Brierley and Thorpe Woods near Wynyard, organised by Billingham Running Club and run under Trail Running Association and UK Athletics rules.

A guided 22 mile trail run around Pickering through wooded valleys and open moorland. Small groups of up to six runners move at a social pace with village drinks stops and an optional post run drink and local food.
