Overview

The Christmas Jumper Jaunt by Saturn Running is a flexible midweek time challenge held at Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club on the River Thames in Egham. The event encourages festive attire but this is optional. Entry fees range from £18 to £30 and members receive a £10 lower entry fee, guaranteed entry and a mini-me medal pin at each event.

Course and event details

The event runs on a fully signed out-and-back lap beside the River Thames. The surface is approximately 60% well-made path or tarmac and 40% grass and light trail, which can become muddy at times. Road shoes are suitable year round; trail shoes may be preferred for extra grip. The regular course may be adjusted subject to health and safety reviews and land owner approval.

Distances and format

  • Minimum distance 3 km, counted as part of a lap.
  • Full lap approximately 7 km or 4.37 miles, possible change to a 3.28 mile loop.
  • 5 km and 10 km options.
  • Half marathon equals 3 laps.
  • Marathon equals 6 laps.
  • Ultra equals 7 or more laps; 50 km distance available.
  • 7 hour Time Challenge allows runners to choose distance.

Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a medal. Distance pins are issued for half marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50 km and ultra achievements and attached to the medal ribbon. Finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan option. An aid table with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items is positioned at the start and finish of each lap. Toilets are available at The Last Hop; there are no separate changing rooms or showers. A pay on exit carpark is at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds. Number pick up is on the day at race registration and final instructions are emailed in the week before the event. A unsecured bag drop is provided. Group runs led by queer folks that prioritize an inclusive space while exploring the trails and unpaved surfaces of north London. Meetings are at the entrance to the turf at Whittington Park and routes are about 6k.

A 100-kilometre anticlockwise loop through the Chiltern Hills, the race follows The Ridgeway and local trails with six checkpoints, marked navigation and open GPS tracking. The event is based in Chesham and limited to 250 runners.

A point to point 50 km ultramarathon from Horsham to Brighton seafront on 9 May 2026, featuring multi terrain trails, four feed stations and a 9.5 hour cut off. Individual and two runner relay entries are offered with team prizes.

Goring Gap Trails offers ultramarathon, half marathon and walking distances near Reading on 9 and 10 May 2026. The TRA licensed event includes affiliated and unaffiliated entry options and on site camping.
