The Christmas Jumper Jaunt

The Christmas Jumper Jaunt is a festive midweek event organised by Saturn Running at The Last Hop, Thames Edge Court, Staines. Christmas jumpers or festive attire are encouraged but not mandatory. The event aims to keep entry costs low so participants can build numbers or pursue personal goals affordably.

This is a 7 hour Time Challenge that lets participants choose their own distance. The minimum distance is 3 km, which is part of a lap. A full lap is 4.37 miles (7 km) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. There are 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap to support UK Athletics age rules. Typical lap counts given are 3 laps for a half marathon, 6 for a marathon, and 7 or more for an ultra. A 50 km option is also offered.

The course follows a stretch of the River Thames, is fully signed and is approximately 60% on well-made path or tarmac and 40% on grass and light trail which can be muddy at times. Road shoes are suitable year round though trail shoes may help on softer sections. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and is held under UK Athletics rules. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a medal and distance pins are issued for half marathon and longer achievements.
