About the Event

The Christmas Jumper Jaunt is a midweek festive running event where Christmas jumpers and attire are encouraged. The event is a 7-hour Time Challenge, giving participants full control over the distance they run within the allotted time. The minimum distance is 3km, with a full lap being approximately 4.37 miles (7km).

Distances and Format

Participants can choose to run a set distance or determine their own within the time frame. The course uses a lap format:

  • 3km (minimum)
  • 5km
  • 10km
  • Half Marathon (3 laps)
  • Marathon (6 laps)
  • 50km
  • Ultra Marathon (7+ laps)

There is a dedicated 3km turn point and 5km turn point on the lap for younger runners.

The Course

The course follows a stretch of the River Thames. It is fully signed and requires no navigation. The surface is a mixture: approximately 60% is on well-made path or tarmac, with the remainder on grass and light trail that can get muddy. Road shoes can be used year-round, but trail shoes are an option.

What's Included

All finishers who complete at least 3km receive a medal. Distance pins for the ribbon are awarded for completing a half marathon or longer. All finishers also receive a goody bag, with a vegan option available.

Venue and Facilities

The event starts and finishes at the Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club in Egham. Facilities include toilets and a cafe at race HQ. There is an unmanned bag drop area at the start/finish. A large "pay on exit" car park is available at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds.

Other Information

An aid table with a selection of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese, and vegan items, plus drinks, is located at the start/finish of each lap. Headphones are permitted.
