Bright Skies Surrey Hills

Bright Skies Surrey Hills is a daytime trail event organised by Wild Running at Denbies Wine Estate, Bradley Lane, Dorking RH5 6AA. The event includes a range of distances and related ascent figures published by the organiser.

• Marathon: ascent 1072 meters
• Half marathon: ascent 460 meters
• 10K: ascent 231 meters
• 5K: ascent 129 meters
• 1K and 2K kids races: for 3 to 12 year olds

The route runs through the Surrey Hills and passes through the Denbies Estate. The course is described as undulating with muddy, rolling hills. This is the fifth Wild Running event held at Denbies and the Bright Skies event was developed from the earlier Dark Skies race.

Marathon competitors should note the first half of the marathon is mostly self navigation, supported by reassurance and wrong way markers. The second half within Denbies is fully marked. GPS devices with the route loaded are permitted and there are two mandatory checkpoints on the marathon first half that must be visited.

Canix races will have extra water bowls at feed stations. There is a tap near a hatch at Denbies for use after racing and additional water will be available at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
