About the Event

The event takes place in Dare Valley Country Park near Aberdare. It is a 7-hour Time Challenge event where participants choose their own distance. The minimum distance is 3km.

Distances

Participants can run a set number of laps on a loop course. A full lap is approximately 4.37 miles (7km). Distances are achieved by completing laps:

  • Half Marathon: 3 laps
  • Marathon: 6 laps
  • Ultra Marathon: 7 or more laps
  • 50km: also available

A 3km and 5km turn point is available within the lap for younger runners.

Course

The route is on well-maintained footpaths within Dare Valley Country Park. The course offers views of the surrounding countryside. The path surface suits road trainers.

What's Included

All finishers who complete at least 3km receive a themed medal. Runners completing a half marathon or more also receive a distance pin (Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50km, or Ultra).

All finishers receive a goody bag. A vegan goody bag option is available.

An aid table with drinks, savoury and sweet snacks, and ice cream is provided at the start/finish of each lap. Vegan options are included.

Venue and Logistics

The venue has toilets but no changing facilities or showers. A cafe serving hot drinks and food is located near the race HQ. Free parking is available on-site.

Race numbers are collected on the day at registration. Final instructions are sent by email the week before the event.

A bag drop area is available at the start/finish, but it is not secure.

Rules and Notes

Only bone-conducting headphones are allowed. The event is held on public footpaths, so runners are asked to be considerate of other path users. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
