The event is day six of the Mount to Coast CYMRUN six day end to end challenge and entries may run alongside CYMRUN competitors.

Competitor numbers are limited to 20 race entries with an additional allowance of 20 for CYMRUN entrants, for a maximum of 40. All entrants must be 20 years or over. The organisers apply preset cut off times based on a minimum average speed of 4 mph; competitors who fall below this minimum may be withdrawn. The race is cup free and competitors must bring a reusable cup.

Finishers receive a bespoke Y Draig Goch medal and male and female champions receive trophies. There are two entry options: a standard entry at £90.00 and a plus race package at £155.00 which includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi vis race jacket when ordered at least four weeks before the event. Maps and GPX files are provided to entrants only and are emailed approximately four weeks prior to the race.

Organisers provide tracking devices with SOS functionality. Competitors must carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, provided route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and an emergency food pack. Competitors should prepare clothing and equipment suitable for variable weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
