The Dashing Dog Charity Run - Wales
This is a charity running event to raise money for local dog rehoming centres, organized by Saturn Too Limited. It takes place on March 21, 2026, at Dare Valley Country Park in Aberdare, Wales. The event is described as inclusive and walkers are welcome.
The format is a 7-hour "Time Challenge," where participants choose their own distance. The route consists of laps on well-maintained footpaths within the park, offering views of the surrounding countryside. The standard full lap is approximately 7km (4.37 miles), but this is subject to change based on conditions. The course includes turn points for 3km and 5km distances for younger runners.
- The minimum distance to be an official finisher and receive a themed medal is 3km.
- Standard lap distances can be combined to achieve various goals: 3 laps for a half marathon, 6 laps for a marathon, and 7 or more laps for an ultra marathon. A 50km distance is also offered.
Event entry includes a £2.00 surcharge, with 100% of this extra amount donated to the charities. An optional extra £3.00 donation can be made to receive a "Doggie" pin for the medal ribbon; this donation is matched by the organizers. All finishers receive a goody bag, with vegan options available.
Other facilities include an aid station with drinks and snacks at the start/finish of each lap, free on-site parking, and venue toilets. A cafe serving hot drinks and food is located by the race headquarters. Bag storage is available but is not secure. The event allows only bone-conducting headphones.
