Rasus y Bannau takes place in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, with start and finish in Brecon on 2-3 May 2026. The organiser is Run Walk Crawl and the event base is Theatr Brycheiniog, Canal Wharf, Brecon, Powys LD3 7EW. The minimum age to enter is 18.

Distances

  • 100 km : 65 miles / 104 km, +5100 m ascent
  • 75 km Ultra Trail : 46.5 miles / 75.5 km, +3500 m ascent
  • Marathon : 26.5 miles / 43 km, +2000 m ascent

Course and checkpoints

All routes start in Brecon town centre and climb the north ridge of Cribyn, then continue via Fan y Big and Carn Pica. The marathon route passes Blaen y Glyn, Torpantau, Corn Du and Pen y Fan before returning to Brecon. Ultra routes descend to Talybont Reservoir, climb Tor y Foel, cross Taf Fechan Forest and follow ridgelines over Fan Fawr and Fan Llia. The 100 km course continues west onto the Black Mountain and Fan Brycheiniog before rejoining the 75 km line above Craig Cerrig Gleisiad and returning via the Beacons Way to Pen y Fan and Brecon.

There are 9 checkpoints on the 100 km, 6 on the 75 km and 4 on the marathon. Checkpoints provide food and drinks. A drop bag is available at about 50 km for ultra runners.

Entry, safety and inclusions

Entry fees are listed for each distance. Compulsory kit is required. Participants must be able to navigate using GPS and route markers and be prepared for mountain conditions. Fees include route marking, GPS file and tracking, checkpoints with refreshments, emergency first aid and mountain safety teams, a finishers medal and free race photography.
