Blorenge Fell Race
The Blorenge Fell Race takes place on 28 November 2026 in Llanfoist. The course is 5.7 km long and gains 485 m of ascent. Organisers describe the event as beginner-friendly while also noting it is a demanding climb over a short distance.
Entry is priced at £6 standard and £4 WFRA, and entries are limited to 120 runners. There will be no entries on the day. The minimum age for participants is 16.
Race headquarters are at Llanfoist Community Hall and the race starts at the bottom of Church Lane in Llanfoist. Parking is available but limited; travel options include walking, cycling, public transport or lift-share.
The previous year saw 98 runners start and finish, with ages ranging from 16 to 80. Conditions that year were wet and foggy, and the field included a mix of experienced and newer fell runners. The event has a community aspect, with local people and visitors sharing food and company.
In 2026 the area experienced wildfires around Blaenavon and the surrounding hills. The organisers support care for the local landscape and biodiversity and support Stump Up For Trees, a local community charity creating native woodland and improving biodiversity.
