Event Overview

The event is a 7-hour time challenge run that takes place in Dare Valley Country Park in Aberdare, Wales, on March 1st, coinciding with St David's Day. Participants have full control over the distance they run within the time limit. The minimum distance is 3 km.

Distances

Participants can choose their own distance by running laps of a course. A full lap is approximately 7 km (4.37 miles). Specific benchmarks are: 3 laps for a half marathon, 6 laps for a marathon, and 7 or more laps for an ultra marathon. A 50 km distance is also offered. There are turn points within a lap for 3 km and 5 km distances to accommodate younger runners following UK Athletics age rules.

The route is within Dare Valley Country Park. The course uses well-maintained public footpaths.

Participant Perks

All finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a medal. Distance pins for half marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50 km, and ultra marathon achievements are awarded and can be attached to the medal ribbon. All finishers receive a goody bag, with a vegan option available.

On-site Facilities

An aid station with a selection of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese, and vegan items, plus a drinks table, is located at the start/finish area of each lap. Toilets are available at the venue, but there are no separate changing facilities or showers. A cafe serving hot drinks and food is located near the race HQ. Free parking is available.

Race numbers are collected on the day at registration. Final instructions are emailed 7-10 days before the event. A non-secure bag drop area is provided at the start/finish. Only bone-conducting headphones are permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
