The St David's Day Dragon Run 2026 takes place on 1 March 2026 at Dare Valley Country Park in Dare, Aberdare, Wales. This is the second edition of the St David's Day Dragon Run. The event is organised by Saturn Too Limited, a franchise partner of Saturn Running.
The format is a 7 hour Time Challenge that allows runners to choose how many laps to complete. The minimum distance to be an official finisher is 3 km. A reduced entry price of £22.00 is available only to members; membership requires purchase of a membership scheme. Race instructions are emailed 7-10 days before the event. Number pick up is on the day at race registration.
Course, distances and facilities
The course runs around Dare Valley Country Park on well maintained footpaths with views of the surrounding countryside. The route is suitable for road trainers and includes 3k and 5k turn points within the lap to help comply with UK Athletics age restrictions.

- 7 km full lap (4.37 miles)
- 3.28 mile alternative loop possible
- Half-marathon = 3 laps
- Marathon = 6 laps
- Ultra = 7 or more laps; 50 km available
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a medal. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50 km and ultra finishes. A goody bag is provided; a vegan goody bag option is available. An aid table and drinks are at the start/finish of each lap with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items. The venue has toilets and a cafe but no separate changing rooms or showers. Free parking is available. A non-secure bag drop is provided. Bone conducting headphones only are allowed.
