Event

Saltire 24, 12 and 6 is a lapped endurance trail running event held on Saturday 20th to Sunday 21st June 2026 at Knockburn Sports Loch, Strachan, Banchory, AB31 6LL. The event is organised by Rebel PT Ltd. Entry opens 3 July 2025 and closes 31 May 2026. The minimum age is 18 and there are currently 124 participants entered.

Race details

The event offers three timed options:

  • 24 hour
  • 12 hour
  • 6 hour

The course is a multi-terrain, waymarked trail within the Knockburn estate. The lap distance is 4.2 miles. Teams may enter in sizes from 2 to 8, and only one team member may run at a time. The organiser notes that completing one lap per hour makes a 100 mile total possible within 24 hours.

Logistics and facilities

Fixed and mobile safety marshals and medics will be placed around the course. Limited serviced camping will be available for the event duration. Peripheral support is based at the Sports Academy and there is access to the shower block next to the conference centre.
