Salt Lake Foothills Trail Races
The Salt Lake Foothills Trail Races take place in the foothills above Salt Lake City on May 22, 2027. The event is organized by Open Range Races and uses trail systems near Hogle Zoo and Ensign Peak, with the main venue at 2600 Sunnyside Ave, Salt Lake City, UT.

- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 2K Family Loop
Course and logistics notes: the Half Marathon is a point-to-point course that starts near Ensign Peak and finishes at the main venue. The 10K gains about 1,200 feet; the Half Marathon gains about 2,800 feet. The 50 Mile course is new for 2026 and lists about 10,300 feet of gain. GPX files will be available for all distances and participants are strongly encouraged to carry a device for navigation. There are no drop bags; runners should plan to carry required gear and nutrition.
Aid stations will include water, Nuun hydration, basic snacks, and standard ultra race food. Poles are permitted for all distances. Dogs are not allowed on course. For the 50 Mile there are cutoffs including an emigration aid station time and a final cutoff to reach the finish. Registration opens August 6, 2026 and closes May 14, 2027 at 11:59 PM MT.
