Chiltern Ridge Winter 50K

The Chiltern Ridge Winter 50K is a single-loop trail race held on Saturday 31st October 2026, starting and finishing at Berkhamsted Cricket Club. The route uses a classic set of Chiltern trails, including Berkhamsted Common and the National Trust Ashridge Estate, joins The Ridgeway National Trail to Aldbury and Wendover, then follows the Chiltern Way through more single track and woodland back into Ashridge before a downhill return to Berkhamsted. Total elevation is listed as 800m plus.

The course is fully marked with orange arrows and ribbons and marshals are positioned at road crossings and busier sections. Runners must carry a digital GPX of the route on a watch or phone; printed maps are provided at registration. The race is licensed by the Trail Running Association and has a 9 hour overall time limit. Maximum field is 350 runners and the minimum entry age is 20. Dogs are not permitted.

There are three full aid stations plus a water point at 11.9km. Full stations offer water, Coke, Precision Fuel & Hydration products, gels and chews, snack items including crisps and flapjacks, and fresh fruit. Required mandatory kit includes a waterproof jacket, warm hat and gloves, head torch, route GPX and paper map, a refillable hydration system and a mobile phone with an emergency contact saved. A 10 km two lap trail race in Epping Forest, Chingford on 29 March 2026. The undulating multi terrain course is chip timed, has a water station at 5 km and distance markers each kilometre, and awards a finisher medal.
