The Chiltern Ridge Winter 50K is a single-loop trail race held on 31 October 2026. The race distance is 50K with over 800 m of elevation. Course and logistics
The route starts and finishes at Berkhamsted Cricket Club and follows trails through Berkhamsted Common, the National Trust Ashridge Estate, The Ridgeway National Trail and the Chiltern Way, with the turnaround near Wendover. Navigation will be fully marked with orange arrow markers and ribbons, and marshals will staff key points; runners are required to carry a GPX route on a watch or phone and a paper map will be available at registration. There are three full checkpoints and one water-only point: Beacon Road (water only) at 11.9 km; Aldbury Sports Ground at 17.7 km; Runaway HQ, Wendover at 30.8 km; and Wigginton Village Hall at 41.4 km. Aid stations provide water, cola, Precision Fuel & Hydration products, snacks, flapjacks and fresh fruit. Required gear includes a mobile phone, waterproof jacket, warm hat and gloves, head torch, route GPX and paper map, and a refillable hydration system. Parking is not available at the venue; nearby public car parks and Berkhamsted train station (about a 5-minute walk) are noted. Entry fees and withdrawal credit terms are specified by the organiser.
