Run to the Rhythm Trail 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
This event is held at Northwood High School, 310 Northwood High School Road, Pittsboro, NC 27312. It offers two distances:
- 5K trail race
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The 5K follows the school's cross country and trail system and includes wooded paths, grassy fields, and packed dirt trails. Runners encounter gentle rolling hills and flat stretches on natural terrain. The start and finish are located near the school track.
The 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk is organized for families, students, and participants of varied ages and abilities. Children age 5 and under may take part in the 1 Mile when accompanied by a registered adult. Adaptive athlete categories are provided for both the 5K and the 1 Mile.
Awards are given for overall Male, Female, Non-Binary, and Wheelchair/Adaptive first places, plus the top two finishers in each age group: 12 and under, 13–17, and 18 and over. Overall winners are excluded from age group awards to avoid duplicate awards.
All registered participants receive an event T shirt and a goodie bag when available. Post-race amenities include food and opportunities for awards and prizes. Well behaved dogs are permitted on course when leashed; owners are responsible for cleanup and safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
