Donate Life NC Hero Run

The Donate Life NC Hero Run takes place in Durham, North Carolina, starting at Herndon Park. This event aims to build awareness for organ, eye, and tissue donation across the state. Participants are encouraged to wear superhero costumes while completing the course, either individually or as part of a team.

The event features several participation options:

  • 5k Run/Walk/Roll
  • 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk/Roll
  • Sleep In Superhero (Virtual option)

Participants on the 5k and 1 Mile courses will travel along the American Tobacco Trail. The routes are designed as out-and-back courses that begin and end at Herndon Park. For those who prefer to participate remotely, the virtual option provides a race t-shirt without requiring attendance at the physical location.

The 5k registration includes a timed bib, a t-shirt, and refreshments following the conclusion of the race. The 1 Mile option includes a bib and access to the post-race activities. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in the 5k, the top three combined finishers aged 10 and under, and the top male and female finishers across various age groups ranging from 11 to over 70.

Parking is available at the park location on Scott King Road. All funds raised from the event are used to support statewide outreach and education regarding the importance of donation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
