The Donate Life NC Hero Run is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Durham, NC. The event base is Herndon Park, 511 Scott King Road, Durham 27713. The course is an out-and-back on the American Tobacco Trail, starting and finishing at Herndon Park. Parking is located at Herndon Park. Proceeds support statewide outreach and education about organ, eye and tissue donation.

Registration fees listed by the organizer are $35 for the 5K, $20 for the 1-mile fun run, and $25 for the Sleep In Superhero option. The 5K registration includes a t-shirt, a bib with timing chip and post-event refreshments. The 1-mile registration includes a bib and access to the post-race party. Sleep In Superhero registrants receive a race t-shirt by mail. Registrations by September 1 are guaranteed a t-shirt; later registrations receive t-shirts if available. The 5K awards top finishers by overall gender, combined male and female for 10 and under, and single male and female winners in standard age groups (11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). Hit scenic single track at Little River Trail Runs in Rougemont on January 10, 2026 with a 10 mile or 7 kilometer option, aid stations and course support. All proceeds help maintain park trails for the local community.

Run the Occoneechee Mountain Challenge 10 mile trail race on January 25 2026 in Hillsborough NC, starting at the Historic Speedway. Tackle single track climbs, scenic Riverwalk views and finish with chili while supporting local charities.
