Cane Creek Mountain Trail Run

The 2nd Annual Cane Creek Mountain Trail Run takes place on 09/12/2026 at Cane Creek Mountain Natural Area in Snow Camp, North Carolina. The natural area covers about 1,000 acres and the event location is listed as 5075 Bass Mountain Road in Alamance County. The park is within driving distance of Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh, Burlington, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem.

Runners follow single-track trails for the full distance of each race. Near the end of the course there is an optional stair climb to the top of an 80-foot observation tower that sits on the highest peak in North Carolina east of Greensboro. Participants who do not climb the tower instead accept a real-time time penalty that is served at an aid station at the foot of the tower.

Race distances include:

  • 10K on single-track trails
  • Half Marathon (13.1 miles) on single-track trails

Registration for both distances opens on 2025-12-19 and closes on 2026-01-11. The registration fee is $60 for the 10K and $75 for the Half Marathon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
