Run to Remember - Sykesville

Event Details

The Run to Remember event takes place in Piney Run Park, located at 30 Martz Road in Sykesville, Maryland. The race was started to remember some wonderful members who have been lost. A portion of the proceeds go to the American Association for Cancer Research.

Course Information

The event features a 5.25-mile loop course through woods and meadows, with a view of the lake for about half the loop. There are two places to pass a water stop on the course, and a well-stocked aid station with a variety of food and drinks is located at the transition point for each loop.

Race Distances and Features

Participants can choose from several race distances:

• 50K: Requires six loops of the course.
• 25K: Requires three loops of the course.
• 5.25 Mile Race: One loop.
• 8 Hour Challenge: Participants are timed for the laps they finish.

For the 50K and 8 Hour Challenge, a runner must start their final lap by 2:45 PM. There is no race day registration. The event is held rain or shine, and all fees are nonrefundable.

Registration and Amenities

The race registration fee includes entrance to the park, a race hat or visor, and a finisher medal. Those who complete the 50K distance or complete a 50K as part of the 8 Hour Challenge will also receive a custom mug. Awards are given to the top three male and female runners in each distance.
