Run to Remember - Sykesville, MD
Run to Remember is held at Piney Run Park, 30 Martz Rd, Sykesville, MD 21784. The event offers multiple timed and untimed distance options on a 5.25 mile loop through woods and meadows with lake views along about half the course. The event is held rain or shine and all fees are nonrefundable.
Available distances:
- 50K - six 5.25 mile loops
- 25K - three 5.25 mile loops
- 5 Mile - one 5.25 mile loop
- 8 Hour Challenge - complete as many 5.25 mile loops as possible
The course has two locations where runners pass a water stop and a well stocked aid station at the transition of each loop supplying a variety of food and drinks. A portion of the event space is dedicated to posters of lost loved ones; organizers can provide details on request. There is no race-day registration. Apparel purchase is optional at registration.
Race fees include park entrance, a custom-made ice bandana, and a Run to Remember ceramic mug. Medal awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in each race. Packet pickup is the day before the race at Otzi Mediterranean Restaurant in Eldersburg. Proceeds support the organizing club, its youth program, a high school scholarship, and a portion benefits the American Association for Cancer Research.
