Run to Remember - Sykesville, MD
Run to Remember is an in-person trail event held at Piney Run Park in Sykesville, Maryland. The course is a 5.25 mile loop through woods and meadows with lake views on roughly half of the route. The loop is used repeatedly for different race options.
Race options include:
- 50K run as six laps of a 5.25 mile loop
- 25K run as three laps of a 5.25 mile loop
- 5 Miler run as one lap of a 5.25 mile loop
- 8 Hour Challenge complete as many laps as possible within the time limit
The course offers two passing points for water and a well stocked aid station at the loop transition with a variety of food and drinks. Race fees include park entrance, a custom ice bandana, and a Run to Remember ceramic mug; medal awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each race. The event is rain or shine, all fees are nonrefundable, and there is no race day registration. Packet pick up is scheduled the day before the event at Otzi Mediterranean Restaurant in Eldersburg. Organizers dedicate a portion of the event to posters of lost loved ones and a portion of proceeds supports the American Association for Cancer Research and the club scholarship and youth programs.
