Event Overview

The Rick O'Donnell Memorial Ultra Challenge is an annual trail running event held at Milkhouse Brewery at Stillpoint Farm in Mount Airy, Maryland. This event has been held since 2013 and honors members of the local running community. The races take place on a trail course where participants can choose between a fixed-distance race or timed challenges.

Available Distances

Participants may select from the following event options:

  • 5 Mile Trail Run
  • 4-Hour Challenge
  • 8-Hour Ultra Challenge

Course and Format

The event consists of a loop-based format for the timed challenges. In both the 4-Hour Challenge and the 8-Hour Ultra Challenge, runners aim to complete as many loops as possible within their selected time limit. Participants may choose to run as many or as few loops as they prefer during the allotted timeframe. The single-distance 5 Mile Trail Run offers a traditional trail race format on the farm property. The registration period for these events begins in early March and concludes in late July. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
