Run the Wild Half Marathon - Autumn Edition
The Run the Wild Half Marathon Autumn edition is a guided trail event in the Chiltern Hills covering approximately 13 miles (21.1 km) with around 300 m of ascent. The event runs over half a day and follows undulating chalk hills and local woodland, with a well stocked refreshment point a little over halfway.
Participants are grouped by ability and led by local English Athletics qualified Run Leaders who provide basic trail technique instruction during the run. Steep sections are walked rather than run where required. The organisers include a finisher’s medal and a Trees not Tees certificate as part of the entry package. The event notes that personal insurance and travel are not included.
The start location is at Church Farm Cafe, Aldbury. On-site parking is available and rail access involves about a 15 minute walk from the nearest station. Facilities at the venue include a cafe, toilets and a bag drop. Dogs can take part only with cani-cross equipment. Participants should be able to run 10 km on the road in 90 minutes or less to join; first-time trail runners and first-time half marathon participants are accepted and grouped appropriately.
Entry spaces are limited and the event includes guidance on mandatory kit and other participation rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
