Run the Dam for Davenport

Run the Dam for Davenport takes place Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Huntington, MA. The event offers a timed road and trail 5K and a non-timed 1.5 mile walk that follow the Gateway Regional School cross country course. The course uses pavement, a grassy field, and trails and includes three distinct inclines, including the Littleville Dam hill at roughly the one-mile mark.

Distances:

  • 5K run (3.1 miles)
  • 1.5 mile walk

All proceeds go directly to Davenport Child Care in Chesterfield, MA, which is approaching its 30th year of providing a learning environment for young children. The 5K field is limited and overall event registration is capped. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and top three female runners in the 5K.

Bib pickup and same-day registration are held in the Gateway Regional School parking lot at 12 Littleville Road in Huntington. The finish line for both options is at the flagpole atop the Littleville Dam viewing area at 32 Goss Hill Road. Participants are asked to shuttle cars to the dam boat ramp parking lot, arrange pickup at the dam, or walk approximately 1.5 miles back to cars in Gateway's parking lot. Spectator parking is available at the boat ramp; closer parking at the dam ranger station is reserved for event staff and spectators with mobility challenges.

Free event T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 30 registered participants; additional shirts will be available for purchase on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
