Jug End Loop Ultra - Egremont, MA

The Jug End Loop Ultra is scheduled for August 22, 2026 at Jug End State Reservation in Egremont, MA and is organized by BURCS. The event is a timed six hour challenge in which participants complete repeated laps of a multi-terrain course. The race benefits the Louison House in North Adams, MA; past editions of this event have donated more than $10,000 to that beneficiary. Profits from the 4.2 Mile John G Memorial Run are directed to Dana Farber.

The course follows the Jug End Loop Trail and includes the upper loop, passing through woods, fields, and an apple orchard. Each full lap is 4.2 mile with roughly 2.1 miles of uphill and 2.1 miles of downhill and about 830 feet of elevation change per lap. No partial laps are scored; a .75 mile mini loop is opened during the final hour so participants can reach standard distances such as a half marathon or marathon without counting incomplete 4.2 mile laps after the six hour cutoff.

Registration offers include an early bird period and regular pricing thereafter, youth (18 and under) registered at half price with a code, and a 10% discount code for teachers, service members, and first responders. Awards include overall male and female honors, expanded age group awards, handcrafted awards for champions, and a 16 oz handmade ceramic mug for finishers.
