Event Overview

The Jug End Loop Ultra is scheduled for August 22, 2026. It features two events: a 4.2-mile run and a 6-hour ultramarathon. The 4.2-mile race starts at 8:00 AM. The 6-hour event permits runners to complete as many 4.2-mile laps as possible before the cutoff. In the final hour of the 6-hour event, a 0.75-mile "mini jug" loop will be available. No incomplete 4.2-mile laps count after the 6-hour mark.

The location is Jug End State Reservation in Egremont, Massachusetts. Parking is accessible via Guilded Hollow Road. The 4.2-mile course uses the Jug End Loop Trail. It goes through woods, fields, and an apple orchard. Each lap features approximately 2.1 miles of uphill and 2.1 miles of downhill, with an elevation change of 830 feet.

Awards and Beneficiaries

Awards are given to the top male and female overall finishers. Age group awards are offered for multiple categories in the 6-hour event. All finishers receive a unique, handmade 16-oz ceramic mug. The event benefits the Louison House homeless shelter in North Adams, Massachusetts. The 4.2-mile run donates its profits to Dana Farber.
