Jug End Loop Ultra

Jug End Loop Ultra is a timed endurance event held on August 22, 2026 at Jug End State Reservation in Egremont, MA and organized by BURCS. The event centers on a 4.2 mile loop that passes through woods, fields, and an apple orchard and follows the Jug End Loop Trail including the upper loop.

The event uses a six hour format. Participants may run or walk as many full 4.2 mile laps as they choose before the cutoff. No partial 4.2 mile laps will be scored. During the final hour a 0.75 mile mini loop is available so participants can reach common distance milestones. Each full lap includes approximately 2.1 miles of uphill and 2.1 miles of downhill with about 830 feet of elevation change per lap.

Registration offerings include an early bird period that ends December 1 and a regular period afterward. Runners aged 18 and under register at half price using the code SUPERKID. Teachers, active and retired service members, and first responders may use code SERVICE! to receive a 10 percent discount.

The event benefits Louison House in North Adams, MA, which serves northern Berkshire County, and the 4.2 Mile John G Memorial Run will donate profits to Dana Farber. The event has donated more than $10,000 to Louison House through past editions.

Awards include overall male and female winners, expanded age group awards for the six hour event, and a unique finisher award of a 16 oz handmade ceramic mug. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
