Run Sandringham

Run Sandringham takes place within the grounds of the Sandringham Estate, the Royal Family’s winter retreat. The event features multiple distances that start and finish within the Royal estate, passing directly in front of Sandringham House and offering views of the surrounding countryside and Royal Park.

The following distances are available:

  • Half Marathon (minimum age 17)
  • 5K (minimum age 12)
  • Community Mile (minimum age 4, under 11s must be accompanied)

The course consists of a mix of traffic-free closed roads and trails through the estate and surrounding woods. While there is no strict time limit, participants in the Half Marathon must reach the 10-mile mark within 3.5 hours to remain on the road; otherwise, they may be directed to the pavement to allow roads to reopen.

Chip timing is provided for the Half Marathon and 5K races. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and operates under UK Athletics rules. Because of the multi-terrain nature of the course, pets, wheelchairs, and prams are not permitted. This is a sustainable, plastic-free event where participants are encouraged to bring refillable bottles, which can be replenished at at least four water stations along the route.

All finishers receive a medal and goodies. Trophies are awarded to the top three male and female runners in the timed races, as well as the winners of each age category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
