Run Ragged Last Person Standing

This event is a "last person standing" competition on a rugged, hilly, and technical trail loop at Ragged Mountain in Berlin, Connecticut. Runners begin at 8:00 AM on May 16, 2026. Each runner has one hour to complete a single loop, which is roughly 3.11 miles. At the top of every hour, the loop begins again. Any runner who fails to start a loop on time is eliminated. The competition continues until only one runner remains who can complete a loop within the allotted hour. There is no second place.

The field is limited to 55 runners. Registration is online, with no race-day registration, bib transfers, or refunds. There is an entry fee, with a discount for members of the organizing club, CT Trailmixers. Parking is available at the trailhead.

A basic aid station will be provided. Each runner is allocated space for one chair and a small personal cooler at the start/finish area. Runners are advised to bring their own food for specific dietary needs. Pacers are not allowed. For safety, a headlamp with backup batteries is required for nighttime running. A rear-facing light, emergency blanket, and whistle are optional.

Proceeds from the event support local organizations, including the Connecticut Forest & Parks Association, which maintains the trails, and a shoe scholarship program for school runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
