The Run for the Pumpkins Trail Run is scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Bradford Preserve, 199 Bradford Road, Westerly, RI. It is the second race in the WTAC Fall Trail Race Series (4 races). A 10% per-event discount applies when registering for three or more series races at the same time. Distances offered:
- 10K
- 5K
- 1K (Children's run, ages 10 and under)
Entry fees vary by registration period. Early registration (through September 14) and later tiers are listed, with higher fees for post-registration and race-day sign-up. Discounts apply for WTAC members and Mohegan Striders. A free kids fun run is held for children 10 and under; pre-registered finishers receive a mini-pumpkin or gourd while supplies last. Food and refreshments are provided after the race.
Course, rules and awards
Both the 5K and 10K start and finish at Bradford Preserve and run through preserved Town of Westerly property and a section of the Woody Hill Management Area. The course surface is primarily dirt trails, a mix of double-track and single-track. To reduce bunching at the trail entrance, runners first follow the perimeter of an open grass field for about 1/3 mile before entering the trail. The course is marked with flags, signs, and seasonal decorations such as ghosts.
Per State of RI DEM mandate, every participant and volunteer must wear at least 200 square inches of orange. Strollers and dogs are prohibited on the course. Walkers are welcome and are asked to choose the 5K when possible. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and to the top finisher in each male and female age group: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.
