Trail Race at Oswegatchie Hills

The Run for the Hills is a trail race held at the Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve in Niantic, Connecticut. The event marks its fifth year at this location, featuring a course that travels around the perimeter of the preserve and passes by Clark Pond. While listed as a 5K, the actual trail distance is approximately 3.3 miles.

The event is open to both runners and hikers. Participants navigate the natural scenery of the preserve, with the course professionally timed by SNERRO, LLC. Proceeds from the registration fees are designated for the maintenance and preservation of the Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve.

The post-race activities take place within the preserve and include an awards ceremony with refreshments for participants. Awards are presented to the overall first place male and female finishers, as well as the top three men and women across several age categories ranging from 19 and under to 70 and over.
