Event Overview

The Run for Refugees 5k is a 5 km running event organized by World Relief Durham (WRD). It is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026. This will be the third edition of the run.

Location & Course

The event starts and finishes at Miracle Park, located at 473 Morehead Ave, Durham, NC 27701. Parking is noted as being at the South Parking Deck of the American Tobacco Campus. The course is timed by a professional service.

Registration & Participation

Registration opens on March 1, 2026. The race is open to participants aged 6 and over. Children aged 5 and under can participate for free with a registered adult, though this does not include a t-shirt or timing.

Standard registration includes a t-shirt and professional timing. There is tiered pricing:

  • Early Bird pricing is available from March 1 to June 15.
  • Regular pricing runs from June 16 to August 15.
  • "Week of" pricing is from August 16 to August 22.

To be guaranteed a t-shirt, registration must be completed by July 31.
