Belvedere Tiburon, United States • 11 Apr 2026

Event details

The Romancing the Island race takes place on April 11, 2026, at Angel Island State Park, Belvedere Tiburon, CA. This is the 35th annual running of the event. Race capacity is limited to 400 participants. Registration pricing includes the athlete ferry fee. Distances offered:

  • Half Marathon
  • 10K

Course and logistics

The course is a hilly loop trail that circumnavigates Angel Island and offers views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, the East Bay, and Marin County. The 10K is one loop; the Half Marathon completes the loop twice. Course markings use orange ribbon at trail crossings and turns. There are no aid stations on the course; aid will be available before the second loop for Half Marathon runners, and Half Marathon participants must check in at that aid station before starting the second loop. Hikers and walkers may participate in the 10K.

Additional details: there is a 3.5 hour course cut-off (half marathon first loop must be completed within 1 hour 30 minutes). Bib numbers are mailed beginning two weeks before the event; bib pick-up and distance changes can be handled at the Tiburon ferry dock on race morning if needed. All participants receive T-shirts; all Half Marathon finishers receive medals. Headphones and other audio devices are not allowed on course trails. Parking in Tiburon lots ranges from $5 to $20 per day. Athletes must take a chartered ferry from the Tiburon ferry dock to reach the start.
