The Romancing the Island Half Marathon & 10K is held on Angel Island State Park in Belvedere Tiburon, California. The 35th annual event takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Course Details

The course is a hilly loop trail that goes around Angel Island. The Half Marathon consists of two loops of this trail, while the 10K is a single loop. The event offers panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, the East Bay, and Marin County.

A course cut-off time of 3.5 hours is enforced. There are no aid stations on the course, so runners are recommended to carry their own water. An aid station is available for Half Marathon participants before they start their second loop.

Logistics and Fees

All participants must take a special chartered ferry from the Tiburon ferry dock (21 Main Street, Tiburon) at 8:00 AM. The race pricing includes this mandatory ferry fee. The event is limited to 400 participants.

All participants receive a T-shirt. Medals are awarded to all Half Marathon finishers. Personalized award ribbons are mailed to the top three male and female finishers in each age group a few weeks after the race.

Bib numbers are mailed to participants two weeks before the event. Bib pick-up is also available at the Tiburon ferry dock on race morning from 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM.
