Course and logistics

  • Half Marathon - two loops around Angel Island (circumnavigation)
  • 10K - single loop around Angel Island

The course follows a hilly loop trail around Angel Island with panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, the East Bay and Marin County. The course is marked with orange ribbon at crossings and turns. There are no aid stations on the course; aid is available before the second loop for half marathoners, and finish-line food and drink will be provided. Half marathoners must check in at that aid station before starting the second loop. Course cut-off time is 3.5 hours (pace equivalents given by the organizer); half marathoners must complete the first loop within 1 hour 30 minutes. Athletes receive bibs by mail beginning two weeks before the event or may pick up a bib at the Tiburon ferry dock on race morning. Headphones and audio devices are not allowed. Parking is available in Tiburon lots, typically $5–$20 per day. Spectator ferry fares are paid at the dock. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
