Rock 'N The Knob Trail Challenge
The 14th annual Rock 'N The Knob is held at Blue Knob in Claysburg, Pennsylvania on September 12, 2026. The event takes place at over 3,100 feet above sea level and is described as Pennsylvania's highest race.
Three course options are offered:
- 50K Ultramarathon atop Blue Knob
- 13.1 mile Medium Distance course atop Blue Knob
- 10K Short Course Spruce Knob atop Blue Knob
Course details: the 50K includes sections from the shorter courses and involves approximately 7,500 feet of climbing with repeated ascents of Blue Knob. The medium distance course covers 13.1 miles with about 3,500 feet of climbing; it has three aid stations (mile 4.6, mile 7.2, mile 11.1) and a six and a half hour time limit. The 10K includes roughly 1,496 feet of climbing, two major climbs and one aid station at the base of the first climb near mile 3; pacers, drop bags, and crew are not permitted for that course.
Terrain is technical and rocky compared with other nearby races. Entry fees include a swag package and post-race food and beer. Lodging is available at Blue Knob All-Seasons Resort.
